WHO in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust and the health community hosted the Health Pavilion at the COP29 UN Climate Conference, which took place in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024.

The Health Pavilion convened the global health community and key stakeholders across various sectors to ensure health and equity are placed at the centre of climate negotiations. It offered a rich 2-week programme of events showcasing evidence, initiatives and solutions to maximize the health benefits of tackling climate change across regions, sectors and communities.

The Health Pavilion hosted 41 events in total, organized by over 90 international partners and all three levels of WHO, with over the half of events involving intersectoral collaboration. A special day was dedicated to the work of the Alliance for Transformative Action on Climate and Health (ATACH), hosting 6 dedicated sessions and an evening reception.

The Pavilion space allowed for the physical attendance of up to 40 in-person participants, while over 2700 persons were following the Health Pavilion events live streaming, and over 5000 persons have accessed the event recordings (as of November 22). Around 37% of the online audience were based in Asia, 34% in Europe, 16% in the Americas, 11% in Africa, and 1% in Oceania.
