The UK Health Alliance on Climate Change brings together health professionals to advocate for just responses to the climate and ecological crisis, promote the health benefits that flow from those responses, and empower members and health professionals to make changes in their professional and personal lives to respond to the crisis. Our vision is for a just, sustainable, healthy world.

The UK Health Alliance on Climate Change is an alliance of health organisations, including Royal Colleges, Faculties, Students for Global Health, British Medical Association, Academy of Medical Sciences, Royal Society of Medicine, British Medical Journal, and the Lancet. The total membership of our members is almost 1 million health professionals.

Together, we coordinate action, provide leadership and advocate for just responses to the climate crisis that benefit health and wellbeing. We do this by:

  • Engaging and influencing decision-makers to strengthen policies responding to the climate and ecological crisis
  • Emphasising that we are an Alliance and that we all, including all members, must work to respond to the climate and ecological crisis
  • Raising awareness of the impact of the climate and ecological emergency on health
  • Supporting sustainable health service delivery across the four UK nations
  • Acting as an influential leader and voice for the health community on the climate and ecological emergency
  • We believe there is great strength in a consistent, coordinated message from health professionals across all areas of care and welcome organisations who care about human and planetary health to join our alliance.
