Alliance for Transformative Action on Climate and Health (ATACH), 2025

Uganda is advancing coordinated climate health action through its first National Health Adaptation Plan launched in August 2024. This initiative enhances health system resilience by integrating climate data into national health information systems, establishing inter-agency coordination mechanisms, and supporting targeted resource mobilization. It emphasizes evidence-based, locally-relevant interventions such as early warning systems and community outreach. Stakeholder engagement at multiple levels—from national to subnational—is central to aligning climate and health priorities. This coordinated approach enables timely adaptation planning and strengthens Uganda’s capacity to anticipate, prevent, and respond to climate-sensitive health threats, serving as a replicable model for evidence-driven, multisectoral health adaptation.
