The Collective Service, in partnership with IFRC, UNICEF, and WHO, led a cholera response in Lusaka, Zambia, where El Niño-driven droughts worsened cholera outbreaks. By conducting rapid assessments and gathering community feedback, they identified key barriers like transportation issues and mixed health messaging. This led to targeted interventions, including deploying ambulances and promoting the “3Cs for cholera” (Clean water, Clean hands, Early care). These efforts increased vaccine uptake, reduced community deaths, and enhanced health outcomes for over 2 million residents in affected areas.
