At the 78th World Health Assembly in May 2025, delegates assessed progress on the climate–health agenda, noting momentum alongside persistent gaps. The adoption of the Global Action Plan on Climate Change and Health, the Clean Air roadmap, and a resolution on lung health were seen as significant steps forward. However, concerns were raised about the lack of explicit recognition of fossil fuels as a primary driver of climate and health crises. The meeting highlighted the urgent need for integrated, cross-sectoral strategies that prioritize health within climate policy frameworks. Enhanced framing of fossil fuel impacts, improved health data integration, and inclusive implementation approaches were identified as critical to advancing meaningful action at the climate–health intersection.
