The Spanish National Weather Service, AEMET, is a public institution attached to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Secretary of State for the Environment. Its mission is "the development, implementation, and provision of meteorological services within the competence of the State and support for the exercise of other public policies and private activities, contributing to the security of people and property, and to the well-being and sustainable development of Spanish society".
